Julia Zhou | Founder & Managing Director

Julia founded Digital Economy Forum on the idea that through technology and education, we can create better informed public opinions for a more effective democratic system. Julia is currently a consultant on digital strategies and teaches Digital Marketing at RED Academy. Previous to this venture, she has worked at global digital marketing agency, 6S Marketing, and for brands such as Samsung, Estée Lauder Companies and Nordstrom. Along with various political and social groups such as Vision Vancouver and Lean In Vancouver.

Julia believes that the future of a technologically integrated world is optimistic and inclusive, striving to decrease global inequalities.

Angela Feng | Director of Communications

Passionate and optimistic about how the digital future will evolve, she believes that the connective relationship between new technologies and social development is compellingly intertwined and destined to inspire and lead. Angela has a degree and background in Sociology and Brand Management, with additional management experiences from various industries ranging from luxury, real estate and finance, she is always exploring how businesses and people are transformed under digital trends. 

Free times are filled with conversations, laughters and exploring the world. Curiosity never killed the cat, it gave it nine lives to live-Yours can too!


Rianne Maharaj  | Project Manager

Rianne is an ambitious and results driven digital marketer. She has a passion for learning and trying new things. Working at DEF has helped Rianne expand her knowledge of the digital world and understand the need to educate others on these topics.

During her free time, she is an avid baker, who is always on the hunt for the perfect cupcake recipe.


Ayodeji Afolabi  | Marketing Coordinator

Ayodeji is a young, value-driven digital marketer, student and managing editor of Dear marketing student. An email newsletter that delivers valuable insight to marketing students. He loves building + marketing products that provide value - Starting from a blank whiteboard or MVP and transforming it into something people will truly value.

In his free time, you can find me at the nearest football pitch, Gym or the kitchen. Fitness is very important to him. I don’t usually have time to cook. But when he does, he gets fancy!
