Renewable energy is the energy that comes from natural resources, which are continually replenished on an individual timescale, such as sun, wind, water, tides, winds, and geothermal sources such as ground source heat pumps. There are many advantages of renewable energy over traditional energy, such as its use of naturally occurring sources, conservation of fossil fuels, reduced pollution and dependence on foreign countries for their energy needs. However, there are some disadvantages to renewable energy also. One major disadvantage of renewable energy is the high initial cost. Even though it is considerably cheaper than traditional forms of energy and the fuel source is renewable, the cost of installing the system can be very high, in terms of the price of the fuel and equipment used.
Most renewable energy systems produce no carbon dioxide emissions or contribute little to global warming. Some renewable energy sources, such as solar power and wind energy, actually increase carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This is because the heat produced by renewable energy plants is used to turn on steam turbine generators, which in turn increase the production of carbon dioxide. When this happens, carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, which then causes warming. Many experts believe that continuing to burn fossil fuels like coal, oil, natural gas and other petroleum sources are the leading cause of climate change.

Renewable Energy involves both the sun’s light and the wind’s power. The sun’s rays can be converted into electricity, which can be used for lighting and heating homes. Similarly, the wind can be used to power small wind turbines which are connected to a generator, to power electrical appliances. With the introduction of larger and more powerful dams, hydroelectric power is a very reliable way to create electricity. Although many environmentalists are critical of hydroelectric dams for their impact on natural resources and the damage to the environment, there are many advantages to hydroelectric power. For instance, the large quantities of energy that can be generated by dams allow communities to use much more energy than they could if there were no hydroelectric power plants in place. Another advantage of hydroelectric power is that it creates virtually no greenhouse gases during the production of energy.
Clean energy generation involves
One of the more popular forms of Renewable Energy is clean energy generation. Clean energy generation involves the use of many geothermal pumps to extract natural underground heat and the energy generated is then used to heat buildings and homes. Some of the most commonly used methods include the use of geothermal heating systems, solar panels and wind turbines. Although these methods do not emit carbon into the atmosphere, they can still potentially harm the environment if not managed properly.
As the world continues to grow increasingly dependent on nonrenewable energy sources, it is important for everyone to begin to develop a clean energy generation strategy of their own. In the case of biomass energy, the development of biofuels like cellulosic ethanol and biodiesel is a great place to start. By developing our own clean energy generation system, we can ensure that we are not contributing to the growing imbalance between fossil fuels and the rest of the planet that can ultimately lead to catastrophic climate change.
